The entire pistol was bead-blasted to provide a soft matte finish. However, I could not resist adding a little bling to the project and had the cylinder flutes and the screws polished. Bill also sent the hammer and trigger to Robar and had them treated with NP3. I owe a big thank you to Freddie Blish for expediting the work order!

Oct 28, 2011 · The only negative I have is the Robar NP3 finish is very slick by design and when the gun is new the slide is very difficult to retract as the recoil springs are at their strongest. It took many rounds down range to get that spring loosened up a little so retracting the slide was easier.

Top notch shotgun, you can’t do better. Don’t be confused like the other review, this is not the old np3 coated h2o m4. Those are not made anymore. This is just a simple cerakote. The originals had the internals (bolt carrier, lifter,etc) np3 coated. These newer models do not have that and obviously don’t have a cerakote applied to them.
